Two-time All-Star Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers is undoubtedly among the top point guards in today’s NBA. He is arguably a key factor in the Pacers reaching their first NBA Finals since 2000.
On this day, Haliburton was primed to compete in the most significant game of his career, a Game 7 showdown in the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This stage is where heroes cement their legacies.
Unfortunately, Haliburton’s chance to steer the Pacers to triumph was cut short just seven minutes into the game, when he sustained a leg injury and fell to the court. After a medical evaluation, team doctors informed Haliburton’s father that his son is dealing with an Achilles injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the game.

While Haliburton’s absence is a significant blow to the Pacers, backup point guard T.J. McConnell is seizing the opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities on such a grand stage. Despite missing their starting playmaker, the Pacers managed to head into halftime with a slim 48-47 lead over the Thunder.
