Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, who has gained popularity for his podcast and media presence, has captured headlines recently due to his arrest. Shortly after, he was released on a $50,000 bond after pleading not guilty. While many criticized Arenas in the wake of the news, he retaliated by mocking one of his detractors, Kwame Brown.
Following his release, Arenas shared a lively video on social media, expressing a positive demeanor as he left the courthouse. In the caption, he wrote, “I’m Back on the Block like it’s HOT. This ain’t got shyt to do with me ‘just rented the house.’ Wasn’t part of the Festivities.”
Arenas and Brown, who were former teammates with the Washington Wizards, have a well-documented public rivalry. Brown, the former No. 1 draft pick, referred to Arenas as “stupid,” which prompted Arenas to sharply troll him in response.
“Ay Kwame, what did you say? … That boy is on fire over there! That boy gets all of his views off another person,” Arenas remarked. “I’m happy to get your page back popping because I just heard you lost another one…”

“You can’t even get out of YouTube jail. I got out of real jail before you got out of YouTube jail; all you got to do is hit a button,” he added, further taunting Brown.
Arenas was taken into custody by federal agents alongside five others, one of whom is thought to be a senior member of an Israeli transnational crime organization. They face allegations of running an illegal gambling ring that hosted high-stakes poker games at a mansion in Encino.
Nick Young’s Hilarious Reaction To Gilbert Arenas’ Arrest
Alongside Brown, Arenas’ former Wizards teammate Nick Young also took the opportunity to make a lighthearted jab directed at Arenas after his arrest. Young humorously suggested changing the podcast name from Gil’s Arena to Swaggy’s Arena while also making a playful dig at D’Angelo Russell.
“My brother is an idiot y’all; we gonna change the show from Gil’s Arena to Swaggy’s Arena… Whatever they say he did… he did that sh*t; might as well tell like DLO,” Young stated. “Take Kenyon Martin next.”
Arenas celebrated his release with some dance moves, telling his wife, “They can’t hold me,” as he descended the stairs. However, his legal troubles remain unresolved, with his trial scheduled for late September.
