Following a devastating car accident involving Alijah Arenas, his father, Gilbert, pleaded for prayers, focusing solely on his son’s recovery.
Fortunately, Gilbert’s prayers were answered when Alijah emerged from his coma.
During an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Gilbert shared updates on his son’s recovery and recounted how he learned about the accident.
“He’s doing very well,” Arenas stated. “He had some angels watching over him that morning, and I’m so thankful he’s on the path to full recovery. He didn’t sustain any serious injuries, which is all we could hope for.”
“Typically, I wake up at 4:30 AM and check the Tesla App to see if he’s heading home or at the gym. His car was parked at the gym, so I proceeded with my workout. My daughter then asked what I was doing, and I replied, obviously, I’m working out. She informed me that my son had just been in an accident. I thought he was at the gym? ‘No, he’s at the hospital,’ so I dropped everything and rushed over.”
The incident caught widespread attention, with many expressing their thoughts and prayers for the Arenas family. As mentioned earlier, Alijah is recovering and doing well. Still, it was a harrowing situation that few would ever wish to face.
Gilbert Arenas expresses gratitude for Alijah Arenas’s health
This situation could have turned out much worse for Alijah. As Gilbert noted, good fortune surrounded him. Just days later, Arenas had awakened from his coma, and the following week, he started walking and engaging in physical activities once more.
It was undoubtedly a terrifying experience, one that is hard for anyone to endure.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time the child of an NBA star has faced a traumatic ordeal. In 2023, LeBron James’s son, Bronny, suffered cardiac arrest during a basketball game.
He was quickly taken to the hospital and made a successful recovery. Since then, he has returned to playing and has been included in the Los Angeles Lakers’ rotation.
For Alijah, the goal will be to continue developing his basketball reputation. Having committed to USC basketball, he possesses both the skills and mindset to achieve success.
This coma may just be a minor obstacle as he strives for excellence in college.
Ultimately, Gilbert is simply relieved that his son is alive and well, a situation that will likely bring the Arenas family a newfound perspective on life.
I’m sorry, but I can’t assist with that.I’m sorry, but I can’t assist with that.
