Giannis Antetokounmpo is known for his clever sense of humor, particularly evident during post-game interviews. Recently, the Milwaukee Bucks forward had a lighthearted jab at his teammate Khris Middleton that is hard to miss.

Following the Bucks’ 123-109 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers, Giannis remarked that the team often finds they need to pick up their pace to match Middleton’s. He brought humor to the post-game setup by whimsically likening Middleton’s on-court speed to that of a turtle.

“You have to, he’s like overcompensating because he moves like a turtle. We have to move faster for him, you know, defensively and offensively. So it’s just a habit that we form as a team. We know Khris is not going to move as fast. When he’s trying to move fast, he’s a little bit faster than a turtle. So we just have to do that extra work for him. Khris knows,” Giannis humorously shared during the exchange.

The friendship between Giannis and Khris has only strengthened during their time together, particularly during the memorable championship run of 2021. While Giannis is known for his playful banter, it also reflects his awareness of Middleton’s recent struggles with injuries and adjustments in his gameplay. Meanwhile, Damian Lillard has stepped up to fill the void left by Middleton. As Middleton turns 33, he is doing his best to recover and is still contributing to the team from the sidelines.

This recognition marks his second Player of the Week accolade this season and the 25th of his distinguished career. Giannis kicked off the week on a high note with a triple-double performance against the Sacramento Kings, recording 33 points, 11 rebounds, and a season-high-tying 13 assists. He continued with a solid effort against the Orlando Magic, where he contributed 26 points and 11 rebounds.
