Since clinching their championship title in 2021, the Milwaukee Bucks have faced difficulties in replicating that playoff success. Their recent postseason exit has intensified discussions surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the franchise.
Sources indicate that discussions on whether Giannis will continue in Milwaukee or seek new opportunities are still ongoing. Furthermore, the two-time MVP recently hinted at his intentions regarding his Bucks career.
At present, however, Giannis is fully dedicated to EuroBasket 2025. He has been training with the Greek national team since early August. On Saturday, Greece participated in an exhibition match. While Antetokounmpo did not play, he still drew considerable attention.
A brief clip from the warm-up session quickly gained traction online, showing the Bucks star reaching over to humorously slap teammate Giannoulis Larentzakis on the head.

This moment occurred as Giannis appeared to deliver an inspirational talk to the team gathered in a circle. While the gesture came across as playful rather than aggressive, it sparked notable attention online, particularly because Larentzakis is older than Antetokounmpo.
Bobby Portis Addresses Giannis Trade Speculation
In a recent discussion with ESPN Milwaukee, Bobby Portis asserted that he does not believe Giannis Antetokounmpo is contemplating leaving Milwaukee. The veteran player expressed unwavering trust in his teammate’s dedication.
“I talk to Giannis all the time. That’s my teammate. Giannis bleeds green. That’s all I can say,” Portis remarked.
Since being chosen by the Bucks in 2013, Giannis has consistently shown loyalty to the organization. Yet, this offseason marked the first time that his future with the team has become a major topic of conversation, particularly following Milwaukee’s trade of Damian Lillard to the Portland Trail Blazers.
