Flau’jae Johnson, a multi-talented individual, often finds herself in the spotlight, and this time her dual passions for basketball and rap are notably intersecting. The LSU women’s basketball star recently shared a TikTok video where she raps along to her latest song, which features a special mention of Indiana Fever’s standout, Caitlin Clark.

In the track “Help Me,” Johnson—known in her rap career as Flau’jae—delivers the line, “Double C on my jacket like I’m Caitlin Clark,” clearly paying homage to the reigning Rookie of the Year.

The reference piqued Clark’s interest, prompting her to share the video on her Instagram story with a simple but approving response: “Elite.”

While Johnson has previously mentioned other athletes like former LSU star Angel Reese and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, this marks her first acknowledgment of Clark, someone she has faced multiple times in competition. Notably, they squared off several times during Clark’s time at Iowa, including the 2023 NCAA championship, which the Tigers won.

The lyric seems to indicate that Johnson continues to hold great respect for Clark’s abilities, a sentiment she expressed in a March interview with Complex.

“[Clark’s] definitely the hardest opponent I’ve ever had to play. She was able to just facilitate. She’s like the best passer I think I’ve ever played against, ever in my life,” Johnson stated. “I really respect the game, and I respect her skill. This is next level. It’s not even close.”

Johnson’s rap career has been gaining momentum in recent years, propelled by viral moments like her collaboration with Lil Wayne on “Came Out a Beast,” which features references to both Reese and Burrow.

This isn’t the first time an artist has drawn inspiration from Clark’s name in their work, and it probably won’t be the last.
