A’ja Wilson delivered an impressive performance for the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
Facing off against the Golden State Valkyries, the three-time WNBA Most Valuable Player appeared at ease even on the opposition’s home ground, scoring 27 points with an efficient 8-for-11 shooting from the field, while also contributing seven rebounds and three assists.
The Valkyries had no answer for Wilson, who excelled both offensively and defensively, guiding the Aces to their 16th win of the 2025 WNBA regular season. Attempting to disrupt her rhythm with fouls backfired for the Valkyries, as the seven-time WNBA All-Star sank all 11 of her free throw attempts, including two crucial shots that secured the victory with just 34.9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Defensively, Wilson proved to be a significant challenge for the Valkyries, recording two steals and two blocks, while her mere presence often thwarted Golden State’s offensive plays.
Additionally, Wilson made the night memorable by setting a WNBA milestone. Her two blocked shots in the game made her the fastest player in league history to reach both 5,000 points and 500 blocks.
“Of course the M’V3 is the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 5’000+ PTS & 500 BLK,” the Aces exclaimed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) following their win against the Valkyries.
Wilson entered the game as a member of the 5,000-point club and achieved her 499th and 500th blocks in her 253rd appearance in the WNBA.
This season, the four-time WNBA blocks leader is averaging 21.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 2.3 blocks, shooting 49.0 percent from the field.
Riding the momentum from back-to-back victories over the Valkyries, Wilson and the Aces aim to continue their success this coming Friday when they return home to face the Seattle Storm at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
